CCM surfaces lumber using a Yates American surface planer. This machine has heads on both top and bottom that takes off a 1/2" inch per pass. Each head has 102 carbide inserts, or knives, arranged in 6 rows per head in a helical pattern, reducing the amount of tear out. With a feed speed of 250 board feet per minute, head speed of 40 hp, and the rubber feed rollers, we can run 25,000 board feet per day on this surface planer.

Our capacity for surface planing is 15" wide. Any board up to 4" thick can be feed through this machine and cut to the thickness that is suited to the need of the customer. Our minmum thickness that we can plane to is 1/2" inch.
